Things you should know...
We are in a tropical zone and have several pests, local and imported, to be aware of while you are staying with us.
Coqui frogs - these little guys invaded the islands ten years ago from Puerto Rico and now have taken over the place. They are small nocturnal creatures that sound like crickets on speed. We have taken steps to control them in our neighborhood but you will still hear them at night. For more info go to College of Tropical Agricuture.
Roosters - a popular and profitable past time for some of the locals is raising fighting roosters. You will hear them crow starting about 5:15 AM or when the moon is full.
Cane frogs - The good news is that these big, slow and ugly guys eat mosquitoes and coqui frogs. The bad news is they release poison from their backs when threatened. So don't pick them up.
